Basket case tony hawk pro skater 34/2/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 shaped my whole music taste, and there was Rage with Guerilla Radio. Geez, chill out, there’s plenty more before, after and at the same time they were around that are also great, go search for different stuff. That counts for me, and frankly, I just can’t stand Nirvana and how people treat them as the LAST GREAT ROCK BAND EVAR. Also, two Sunny Day Real Estate members played on Foo Fighters and a No Use For A Name ex-member is there to this day. Sure, Nirvana was huge, it’s a popular gateway band that people get really attached to, but, for me, Foo Fighters took it to the next level. I don’t like ‘em, but Dookie is probably the most influential punk album released in the 90’s.įoo Fighters comes first for me basically because Dave is such a better songwritter than Kurt was. I don’t really like Green Day, but they were the band that made pop-punk big in the 90’s, creating a gateway for other bands to show their stuff outside of the underground punk scene and influencing a lot of bands that I listen to. Weezer shaped every single alternative band ever that was formed after them, Blue and Pinkerton are hugely influential, and I really love Green and the new White Album. I would put Weezer and Green Day on the top, then Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Rage and Oasis. I find their stuff to be mediocre, and the only reason they’re known is because of “Wonderwall.” I literally never listen to Rage besides Killing In The Name, so I put them second to last, but Oasis I just do not like. Green Day is a bit poppy-sounding for my taste, but they do have some great hits that I love. It’s not just yelling for the sake of yelling. Foo Fighters are up there because I love Dave Grohl, but also because their stuff can be heavy but like, it’s done really well. Lithium is my favorite song by Nirvana (I won someone over once because I knew all the words, then turned him down–long story). Nirvana is just undeniably great, I mean, not much needs to be said. Blue and Pinkerton are obviously their best albums (and their only 90’s albums), but even their modern stuff is really good. ![]() Weezer is my all time favorite band which is pretty obvious from my wall, so I couldn’t put them anywhere but first. Rage (Killing In The Name – sorry, I don’t listen to Rage much) Are you asking us to rank them in order? Personally my list is…. ![]()
